Dearest Mum and Dad,
We had a new friend this week and his name was Eldon. He was a quiet boy and hardly cried even on his first week of school! What a brave boy! Although he would be with us for only a month, I was sure he would enjoy his time with us. J
For English this week, we learnt the letter “k” where “k” was for kite, kitten, keys, kangaroo, king and kettle. We also learnt about its phonetic sounding as well as revised on the other letters we had learnt before.
Theme talk for the week was about exercise. We must exercise to keep ourselves fit so that we could sleep better and pay more attention in class. We also did a revision for things we learnt throughout the month and we remembered most of the things taught!
Book read for this week was if you take a mouse to the movies. It’s a story about a series of events if you take a mouse to the movies. He would have lots of things to do. What were the things that he would do? Perhaps you could go to the library with me to browse at the book so that we could read it together .
Math this week was on patterning. But this time, with different materials. Some of us were able to grasp the concept while quite a number of us weren’t familiar with it. I am sure that if we had a few more tries, we’d able to do it.
Craft this week was balloon printing, where we had 3 different types of balloon to print with. 1 was full of water, 1 was filled with air while the other balloon was half filled with air and water. While printing, a handful of us were able to control the balloon and a few of us almost burst the balloon. It got Ms. Angela frightened for a moment and her expression was really funny.
Cookery this week was spreading of tuna and strawberry jam on 3 small pieces of bread, stacking them together and eating them! There were different ways of eating. Some of us ate it piece by piece while the others ate 3 stack of bread as a whole. Yummy!
Also, we had a night safari hunt in school. It was pitch dark and we had only our torch lights with us. It started with us going to 4 stations to have Ms. Tan, Ms. Rose, and May Lao Shi and Ms Bernie reading to us. Following which, we held our torch lights and hunt around the school for creatures found in the night safari. We had snake, owl, tiger, lion and quite a few insects here and there. We were all so brave that we weren’t scared of any of them!
That's all we had this week. Hope that the following week will be better! Oh yes, by now, you'd have received a note from Ms. Angela regarding the different changes in class. Hope that we could work together to make our class look good!
Loves,
