Dear Mummy and Daddy,
As you know, this week, we had lots of activities going on in school!
First, we had a healthy lunch buffet where we get to choose the food we liked to eat. We also had our monthly performance which we sang “Miss Polly” together with my friends from N1-Love.
We also went to the zoo where we saw lots of animals like the giraffe, elephant, orang utan, lion, white tiger, kangaroo and lots more! We even get to lunch at the area where the polar bear was. We were all very excited when we saw the different animals. We even sat on the tram a couple of times and even get to see the horse carriage!
Theme this month was “Caring for Nature” and we talked about the plants that around us. Ms. Angela said that like us, plants needed water to grow. And thus, we did an experiment where we got a white flower and placed it in blue and red water. The next day, we could see blue lines on the flower! The flower is indeed drinking water. Another experiment that we did was to leave the lily flower without any water. True enough, the next day, it's petal went down. And when water was poured in it, the petal went up! How interesting.
Letter of the week is letter “l” where “l” was for lion, lollipop, leaf, ladybird and letter.
Book of the week is “Bear's new friend”. This book was about a bear, together with his friends, they found a new friend! Who’s that new friend? Let's go to the library, get the book and find out together!
We also learnt about a new shape. It's a triangle and it has 3 sides. We were given a triangle print out and Ms. Angela told us to colour in the triangle. Most of us tried and it was pretty neat!
Craft this week was branch painting, where we painted with branches, as well as hand print on a piece of paper. Ms. Angela and Ms. Joanna cut it and transformed into a flower! We were also encouraged to give 1 of our hand print flower to our friends. I thought they looked happy when they got my flower.
Oh yes, this week, we did a good job by placing the tongue depressor and notebook in the pocket next to the black cupboard. Of course, only with your help, would I be able to do it. However, Ms. Angela would need more items regarding the theme. Perhaps we could bring raincoat, umbrella, flowers and leaves into class. Oh yes, do start collecting recycled materials now because both you and I would need them for the 2nd chance toy/sculpture happening on the 22nd of April! We were to make a toy/sculpture using recycled materials with you to show it to my friends. Do make time for it, alright?
